Quite surprised by some of the numbers in this map from the outstanding Afrographique. Although there are a lot of tourists here in Mozambique, I’m surprised that there are more than three times the number of tourists in Mozambique than in Tanzania or 60% more than in Kenya. But the African Statistical Yearbook 2011 (pdf) surely does state that the number of tourists in Mozambique is 2,224,000.

I hold a M.Sc in Sociology a MA in Historical Social Enquiry (Social History + Historical Sociology + Global Development), and work as Information Management Lead at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. I guess you can call me a Computational Sociologist of Global Development and Humanitarian Action. No less.
